                Regarding the second generation of mobile communication
                (2G), although it was still mainly for voice calls, it used a

                digital system, which meant that the message was turned
                into "0" and "1", supporting data such as short message
                transmissions, and fixing the deficiency of being easily
                eavesdropped on in an analogue phone. Hong Kong

                uses the European GSM technical specification, which is
                different from Japan and the U.S. Therefore, Hong Kong
                users had to switch their handsets to keep in contact when

                they were in these countries.



                Ten years ago, the mobile internet and social networks
                became  popular  with smartphones,  enabling  third
                generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G) mobile

                communication technologies to take off.


                The fifth generation (5G) of mobile technology is the
                communication between people and people, people

                and machines (or objects), and among things (that is, the
                internet of things). The 5G network is fast and reliable for
