A note to readers

Passing the torch

When I published this book, it happened to be my 20th
anniversary since graduating from the Faculty of Science

at the University of Hong Kong. It was also the 20th year
since my grandmother passed away in 1999. To keep my
promise to my grandmother, that is to “contribute to society
318 once I have the capacity”, I started to teach a master's

course three years ago, and I established the "Tang Chui
Wai Hing Project Prize" in the name of my grandmother.
I have also established a scholarship for outstanding
undergraduates in the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in the

Applied Artificial Intelligence Programme. I do hope these
can encourage more students to embrace technology and
work together to build an advanced and livable city for the
Hong Kong community.
