South Korea: Behind
the success in
innovative technology
South Korea has achieved renown as one of the top three
innovative countries in the world and in the Asia Pacific
region by Bloomberg and the World Intellectual Property
Organization respectively. In late 2018, I was invited to visit 143
Seoul to study the secret behind its success.
One of the highlights was to visit South Korea's Silicon
Valley, the Pangyo Techno Valley (PTV) which is an
important information technology town. It is a miniature of
the innovation and technology (innotech) development in
Korea today.
South Korea was once drowned by the financial turmoil of
1997. However, the country rebounded over the last two
decades and has created an amazing economic miracle
